Ota asks Vietnam to use Japanese technology

A Japanese Cabinet minister has asked Vietnam to use the technology and experience of private Japanese firms to develop the country's social infrastructure.
Akihiro Ota, who is in charge of transport and infrastructure, met Vietnam's transport minister Dinh La Thang and construction minister Trinh Dinh Dung separately in Hanoi on Friday.
Ota made the request in reference to Vietnam's projects to rapidly construct transport facilities such as airports and seaports.
Thang explained that Vietnam built the infrastructure with official development aid from Japan. He called for more Japanese assistance.
After the meetings, Ota suggested to reporters that the Japanese government will help firms win contracts in Vietnam and solve troubles arising in projects.
